There are two steps for getting your work into the Indoor Laneway buffet. See the how to guide for detailed instructions.
Audio responses to tasks
Assisted by their teachers, students will be asked to upload their self-created audio to Soundcloud (http://soundcloud.com/). Their teacher will need to create a Soundcloud account and upload their students’ tracks to their Soundcloud account. These tracks can then be embedded into the IL blog and easily shared/downloaded.
General guidelines for audio:
- MP3 format
- Between 30sec – 3min long (unless otherwise specified)
- Stereo
- Check audio levels are in a good range (eg. Not too soft or loud)
Photo/illustrated responses to tasks
Students will be asked to photograph, draw or create collage works. Teachers will be asked to post their students’ images to the IL blog, as well as to an Indoor Laneway Flickr group (to be started up prior to Week 1 of the project).
General Guidelines for uploading digital images:
- Shoot full resolution but upload a web friendly version
- 72dpi web/screen resolution
- 16 x 9 ratio, preferably landscape (not portrait)
- Dimensions variable, depending on the task but when in doubt larger is better
- Less is more in terms of digital effects/Photoshop
Video responses to tasks
There is an Indoor Laneway Vimeo account and teachers will be asked to upload their students’ work here.
General Guidelines for video:
- 16 x 9 ratio please
- DV Pal format
- Standard Definition (NOT HD – pls export as SD if you are shooting on HD)
- Try and retain the frame size (eg. 720 x 576 pixels anamorphic)
- Allow others to ‘download’ your video on Vimeo
