As Miss O’Toole was away last week we have decided to go full force on Task 2 and come back and upload images and sounds from task 1 next week…. Thanks to Dan for the information on how to upload media and create blogs… it’s been a big help and hopefully will enable us to do just that.

Many thanks to the students from Whitefriars College and Mooroopna Secondary College who did an excellent job today in helping to set up the Indoor Laneway Project exhibition space at the Black Box theatre at the Arts Centre. It was a fantastic day and everyone participated fully in preparing the space for our exhibition which opens on Wednesday 9th September.
Congratulations to indoor laneway participants Emma Scott and Josh Thurston on their team’s successful completion of their 12 month MSC media production of an e-resource on body image. Their presentation to the review panel was so successful that they were asked to make it available to every primary school in the state. As Nicole said,
“Thank you for your participation and great work with the Mooroopna Secondary College ‘e+bodyimage’ project. Your hard work has been invaluable to the success of the project. Nicole Reidy, Secondary School Nurse, MSC.”
We are working with the other students on this project and we are glad that you like the idea of involving everyone.
We would like to get some Photos and/or short Clips of close ups of eyes or people pointing in and looking from WFS when possible to add to our project.
I can see you’ve been working hard and exploring the remix idea which is so excellent to see. A big part of this project is about connecting with others even if you live hundreds of kilometres apart and using this blog as a portal – and Terrie and Rebecca it’s so cool that this is the concept you’re using in your portal/portrait work.
Just a quick update on the exhibition – in two weeks!
I’m working with Dan at the moment to figure out the best way to exhibit the work from this project. As you can imagine this requires as much thought and energy as you guys have invested into creating your work – not easy!
While Dan, I, Marie and Darryl will need to make some executive decisions as to 1) curation of the work (what works are featured and where), 2) the look and layout of the space, if you guys have thoughts/ideas you’re welcome to make suggestions.
Here’s what we know so far:
- the work you’ve created will be shown as digital images, moving image or sounds
- the exhibition will mimic the process of this blog: the audience will move through a kind of domestic teenage bedroom space, then through a simulated laneway/corridor of video projections, then into the final space which is the “remix” space
- my role is to “curate” your work into themes/areas within the exhibition, to make it easier for the audience to understand and appreciate the work. All your work will be featured on a computer with the Indoor Laneway blog (in the teenage bedroom space) but we won’t be able to feature all work in the larger exhibition.
